Piney Point Path

.2 miles one way

This short trail starts near the Woodland Blind and winds into the heart of a mature loblolly pine forest.  It is mostly a quiet, shaded path of pine needles with some open areas.

  • Along the path look for animal scat, turtles, and rabbits.
  • Look for barred owls, woodpeckers and flycatchers.
  • The trail ends at an observation platform overlooking Prospect Bay.
  • Take binoculars or a spotting scope and scan the marsh for green herons, egrets, and a variety of waterfowl. Be sure to bring your camera to catch that special photograph.

Stroller accessible.
