We all know the CBEC property is beautiful during the day, but did you know we have fantastic views of the night’s sky? Join us and travel through the solar system into the Milky Way – and possibly even to other galaxies – with CBEC volunteer Andy Lomax, who is a retired naval oceanographer and former Deputy Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Observatory, through our “Astrogaze on the Bay” program.

Andy will be offering 1- to 1.5-hour “sneak peeks” into the universe, using telescopes to view various astrological features like stars, planets, and meteor showers, in combination with learning the constellations and a little astronomy. Themes for the programs will be based on the year’s lunar activity. Feel free to bring your own telescopes and/or binoculars too.

Sessions are capped at 20 participants, and registration and prepayment are required. Note that you are automatically registered for both the primary date and the rain date. You cannot register for only the rain date. If both the primary date and the rain date must be cancelled, you will receive a credit for a future event.
