Between the months of January thru April the Visitor Center will be operating on a modified schedule.
Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm the Visitor Center may not be open, however, CBEC Staff may be found in the Education Building to assist visitors.
Saturday and Sunday if weather conditions are favorable the Visitor Center will be open 9am-5pm.
If the Visitor Center is closed upon arriving between 9am-5pm, visitors are encouraged to grab a Trail Map and enjoy a self-guided walk!

CBEC is a 510 acre wildlife preserve that will open your eyes, ears, mind, and heart to the wildlife and historic landscapes that characterize Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Pause for a moment in a secluded bird blind, or explore native woodlands, marshes and meadows, along 4 miles of walking trails. Search for the over 200 species of birds regularly seen at CBEC. Return again and again to discover the rich, ever-changing world of the Chesapeake Bay’s tidal marshes throughout the seasons. Visitor Center, gift shop, indoor and outdoor restrooms, and picnic facilities available.
