Our Sustainable Oyster Farm

Pearly Girl oysters are cultivated on CBEC’s 2.8-acre lease, which we actively manage with the expertise of Queen Anne’s County watermen. By combining natural filtration and sustainable farming practices, we create a premium product that’s not only good for the environment but also exceptional for your palate. Hand-harvested and sold through Harris Seafood Company in Grasonville, MD, these oysters deliver the authentic taste of the Chesapeake Bay straight to your table.

Purchasing Pearly Girl oysters from Harris Seafood helps restore the Bay’s oyster population and supports just one of 3 oyster packing houses left in the Bay while also providing vital funding for CBEC’s programs. Your purchase directly supports the following initiatives:

  • 50% of funds go toward purchasing oyster spat (young oysters) to grow on our lease and in restoration areas across the Bay, helping to rebuild a healthy oyster population crucial to the Bay’s ecosystem.
  • 50% of funds support CBEC’s operational budget, particularly educational programs that raise awareness about the importance of oysters and environmental conservation. These programs inspire future generations to care for the Chesapeake Bay.
