It’s Never too Early to Have a Countdown to Summer…and CBEC’s Summer Camp, of course!

It may seem a long ways off, but we are already eagerly anticipating our upcoming season of summer camp! It may be the cold weather that has us thinking about summer, or it may be our exciting plans for new sessions like “Cool and Unusual Critters of the Chesapeake” and “Chesapeake Explorers Travel Camp: Adventure Edition,” plus hands-on nature play and exploration, as well as lots of traditional camp fun and games. The schedule will be announced January 25 with registration beginning February 1. Summer camp will run from June 19th through September 1st. Keep an eye on our site: http://bayrestoration.org/camps!

Want to work/play at camp and help inspire the next generation of Chesapeake Bay stewards? CBEC is looking for lots of volunteers, ages 16+, to assist with our summer camps. One of the great things about our camps is how campers and volunteers of all ages work and play together and grow as stewards of the Chesapeake Bay. If interested, contact Katey Nelson at knelson@bayrestoration.org. College students can receive college credits for working at camp and gain valuable experience in teaching and providing outdoor environmental education. Keep thinking warm thoughts and we’ll see you at summer camp!

Can’t wait for summer camp? Join us for School’s Out Camps this Spring! Our camps will get your kids outside, playing and learning in nature. Plenty of indoor experiments and activities are planned, too, so that we can warm up in between our outdoor adventures. Open to students in grades K-6th. Check out the calendar and themes – like Pirates of the Chesapeake! – and register here.
